This Jamaican $2 banknote, issued on 1st February 1993 under the Bank of Jamaica Act, prominently features Paul Bogle, a Jamaican national hero and leader of the 1865 Morant Bay Rebellion, on the obverse. The note includes the Jamaican Coat of Arms, a vividly illustrated hummingbird, and the denomination “$2” in all corners, with intricate background security patterns.
The reverse side depicts a group of smiling Jamaican schoolchildren beneath the nation’s motto “Out of Many, One People”, symbolizing unity and diversity. The scene is framed by decorative borders and floral designs, capturing the cultural essence of Jamaica in the early 1990s.
